Michael Gemmiti obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics from Trent University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2003.  He was called to the bar in Alberta in 2005 and to the bar in British Columbia in 2011.

Michael practiced tax law for a number of years with a specialization in international tax.  Since 2015 Michael has focused on litigation.  He has experience in estate, tax, commercial, real estate, and insurance matters.  Michael has successfully represented clients in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, the Provincial Court, the Tax Court of Canada, the Human Rights Tribunal, and the Residential Tenancy Branch.  He also has resolved matters through mediation.

Since joining Meridian Law Group in 2021, Michael has focused his practice on all aspects of estate litigation, including:

  • Wills variation claims;
  • Actions relating to the validity of Wills;
  • Actions relating to resulting trusts;
  • Proceedings relating to problem executors and trustees;
  • Passing of estate accounts; and
  • Claims of unjust enrichment.

Outside the office, Michael spends his time with his wife and two young children and their golden retrievers, Honey and Biscotti.
